Star Trail - RTH

At 1am on a clear summer’s night, I set up on a remote beach for a 120-plus frame exposure, with the North Star directly ahead over the sea.
 
Halfway through, a light appeared behind me. A young woman on a bicycle came crashing through the darkness, narrowly missing the camera before looking skyward and telling me she had never seen the stars before.
 
Fortunately, the camera survived, the exposures continued and STAR TRAIL was completed.
 
A reminder that however carefully you plan a photograph, you should always expect the unexpected.
