WHAT IS READY TO HANG?
Every READY TO HANG photograph is produced to a carefully selected specification, bringing together
the photographic print, mount and frame to create a finished piece of wall art.
Each artwork has its own defined image size, paper, mount and frame profile,
with the overall dimensions clearly shown on its product page.
The following sections explain the materials, finishes and presentation
options used throughout the collection.
FINE ART PRINT PAPERS
We are passionate about Fine Art printing and the papers used to produce our photographs. Often referred to as Giclée printing, this process combines high-quality pigment inks with specialist archival papers to reproduce exceptional detail, subtle tonal gradations and rich colour.
Fine Art papers offer a variety of finishes, from smooth matt and gloss surfaces to richly textured watercolour papers, each bringing its own character to the finished photograph.
Throughout our READY TO HANG collection, we use three carefully selected papers:- Smooth Cotton, Platinum Baryta Gloss and William Turner.
Each photograph is assigned a particular paper as part of its individual specification, chosen to complement the image and the way we want it to be seen.
The photographs below show actual print samples on each of our three Fine Art papers, with examples in both colour and black and white.
HAHNEMÜHLE WILLIAM TURNER
Hahnemühle William Turner is a traditional Fine Art watercolour paper with a distinctive textured surface and tactile finish.
Its natural texture lends a soft, almost painterly quality to photographs, particularly those where atmosphere, colour and surface
detail play an important part.
Made from 100% cotton, the paper is acid-free and lignin-free,
offering excellent archival properties.
FOTOSPEED PLATINUM BARYTA GLOSS
Fotospeed Platinum Baryta Gloss is a natural white Fine Art paper with a smooth, subtly glossy surface.
It produces excellent tonal depth, delicate highlights and smooth transitions through the shadows, making it particularly suited to photographs
where clarity, contrast and fine detail are important.
Its qualities work equally well with colour and black and white photography, while its acid-free composition supports long-term print stability.
EPSON FINE ART COTTON
Epson Fine Art Cotton is a smooth matt paper with a soft,
natural white appearance.
Its understated surface allows the photograph to take centre stage, producing rich colour, subtle tonal transitions and carefully
controlled highlight and shadow detail without the reflections
associated with gloss papers.
It is particularly suited to photographs where a quiet,
refined presentation is preferred.
IMAGE SIZES
Our READY TO HANG collection includes photographs in a variety of sizes and formats, from square and portrait to landscape and panoramic compositions.
Each photograph has a carefully selected image size, chosen to complement its composition and presentation. The two examples below illustrate how image dimensions are measured, referring to the photographic print itself, excluding the surrounding mount and frame.
The overall framed dimensions are explained separately in the following sections.
WINDOW MOUNTS
Window mounts provide a visual space between the photograph and its frame, helping to draw attention to the image while creating a balanced and considered presentation. Each card mount has a bevelled inner edge, adding a subtle sense of depth and a refined finish around the photograph.
They also serve an important practical purpose, separating the surface of the photographic print from the clear acrylic front panel, preventing direct contact between the two.
Our READY TO HANG collection uses carefully selected mount boards, with colours and widths chosen to complement each photograph and its frame.
The mount dimensions form part of each artwork's individual specification, contributing to both its appearance and overall framed size.
In the examples below, the areas highlighted in red indicate the position and proportions of the window mounts within the finished framed artwork.
FRAME PROFILES
The frame is an important part of the overall presentation, providing a finishing touch that complements the photograph, its paper and window mount.
Throughout our READY TO HANG collection, we use two carefully selected wooden frame profiles, each with its own colour, dimensions and visual character.
Each photograph is assigned a frame profile as part of its individual READY TO HANG specification, chosen to complement the image and its overall presentation.
S1 FRAME PROFILE | SATIN BLACK
A slim wooden frame with a satin black finish, measuring 2 cm wide × 3.4 cm deep. Its understated appearance provides a clean, contemporary border around the photograph.
S2 FRAME PROFILE | GREY
A broader wooden frame with a grey finish, measuring 3.3 cm wide × 3 cm deep. Its wider face creates a more substantial visual border, while the neutral grey finish offers a softer alternative to black.
OVERALL FRAMED SIZES
The overall framed size brings together the photograph, window mount and frame profile to establish the finished dimensions of each READY TO HANG artwork.
These measurements represent the full width and height of the completed frame, rather than the photographic image alone. They are particularly important when considering where an artwork will be displayed and the wall space available.
Each photograph has its own overall framed dimensions, clearly stated in its individual product specification.
The two examples below illustrate how the finished dimensions are measured, including the surrounding mount and frame.
READY FOR YOUR WALL
Every READY TO HANG artwork is supplied as a complete, professionally framed piece,
prepared for display in your home or workplace.
A clear acrylic front panel protects the photograph, while the back of the frame is sealed and finished with a protective backing board. Metal hanging brackets are fitted to the rear,
allowing the artwork to be securely displayed on your wall.
Please note that wall fixings, such as screws, wall plugs or picture hooks, are not supplied,
as the appropriate fixings will depend on the construction and condition of your wall.
