Reculver Towers- RTH

The twin medieval towers of the ruined church of St Mary have stood at Reculver since the 12th century, on a site whose history stretches back through Roman occupation to the Stone and Bronze Ages.
 
Photographing here on a cold December night, I couldn’t help but contemplate all those who had walked these paths before me. Mine was but a small light amongst the layers of history that make this enigmatic place.
