Others - RTH

Out of season, a crisp, cool light floods the North Carolina shore. Bright red chairs sit empty around an unlit fire pit, while the beach house stands closed, not abandoned, merely marking time.
 
As I photographed, I felt like an intruder in a place belonging to others. Their presence was sensed rather than seen, lingering in what had been left behind.
