Standing above the white cliffs of the South Downs, a few miles from Beachy Head, is the decommissioned Belle Tout Lighthouse.
With erosion threatening its foundations, the 850-ton lighthouse was moved 17 metres inland in 1999 in a remarkable feat of engineering, saving it from eventually falling into the sea.
